Stable bandages
If your horse needs night bandages or stable bandages, you will find a few different options here. Bandaging the training horse is done to reduce the appearance or to keep existing windgalls soft. Windgalls are a soft swelling that occurs when the amount of synovial fluid increases in the joint, the joint capsule then bulges out.
Stable bandages are often wider than normal riding bandages used in training and are often made of a harder material that is not as stretchy. Stable bandages are there to provide support and protect your horse's legs, they are wrapped from the coronet up to the hock with a pad close to the leg. Stable bandages can also be used when transporting your horse.
It is important when bandaging that the bandages are dry and whole and that they are used with a pad underneath. The stable pad should lie flat against the horse's legs. The stable bandage should be wrapped fairly tightly with even pressure, the bandage and pad should be in the same direction.
Together with a pair of stable bandages, you have a good set to use to keep your horse bandaged in the stable. If you do not like to bandage your horse, there are a number of different stable boots to choose from. The stable boots are available in a number of different materials, completely neutral or with different functional materials such as Back on Track, Kentucky's Recuptex or Veredus magnetic boots.
No matter which one suits you best, you will find them with us here at Hogsta. Buy your stable bandages, pads or stable boots online or in the store on Drottningholm.
